Previous project that HWSKLS members were engaged in:
A year-long project with B40 single mothers with support from Yayasan DayaDiri
Herwellbeing Society Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (HWSKLS) with the support from Yayasan DayaDiri managed a year-long project with B40 single mothers. The goal was to enhance maternal well-being built on health and human capital development. The recruitment process reached women in three PPR homes to approximately 9200 B40 households. HWSKLS managed to recruit 50 women from all these three vicinities.
Such efforts were only possible through funding support from Yayasan DayaDiri, under the coordination of Puan Siti Nashrah Nur and Puan Wan Mohamad Akbar Sharifah Maryam.
Most of the project activities are shared on our social media platforms. However, two main outputs; a) E Training Manual in Bahasa Malaysia and English Versions & b) Nutritional Booklet in dual language, are shared below.
Herwellbeing Society Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (HWSKLS) members are active academics, researchers and community advocates who also offer their services to societies promoting wellbeing. President and Secretary have been the National Editors for Practical health Psychology Blogs. Here we have translated Bahasa Malaysia versions of the Blogs, which help the daily living.
Practical Health Psychology Blog, is a blog about cutting edge Health Psychology and how to apply it in practice. We aim to translate rigorous and peer-reviewed research to simple and straightforward blog posts. These posts can be easily translated into practice. We are associated with the European Health Psychology Society and our National Editors are recruited through the Society. They provide their expertise to explain findings from health psychology research to the practitioners across 28 languages. An output of this collaborations is also available in the first E book publication by the society.

International Webinar on Soical Work Profession in Geriatric Care - Current Roles, Challenges and Emerging Trends
The President of Herwellbeing Society Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (HWSKLS) was invited to give a talk on “Social Work Profession in Geriatric Care – Current Roles, Challenges and Emerging Trends” on 28 – 30 July 2021 and 3 – 5 August 2021.
Our President’s talk was on the last day and she was the 1st speaker for the day. She shared her experience of social work and its progress in terms of elderly care within the local context.
Besides our president’s talk, many other speakers from 15 countries shared important information on caring for our elders and good practices across countries. For more information on the talks please view the video links here.

Herwellbeing Society Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (HWSKLS) is actively collaborating with Perdana University which is established as a Public-Private Partnership project, this university is committed to providing premier programmes; as working committee members on a project for Pengerang Women.
Project Title: #MyPengerangSihat, managed by Kelab Sukan Rekreasi Komuniti Pengerang, under the guidance of YB DATO’ SRI AZALINA OTHMAN SAID. Jawatan dalam Parlimen, Timbalan Yang di-Pertua Dewan Rakyat. Parti, BN – UMNO. Tempat Duduk, A-27. This project aims to enhance Pengerang women’s wellbeing. The main goal is to promote holistic health screening programme and its benefits to the Pengerang Community.
HWSKLS collaborators will provide more details on the outcomes of the programme will be published soon.
Some of the current health issues observed and the content of this information are now translated or in Bahasa Malaysia. This approach is applied so that our community encapsulates the full applicability of the required preventive measures.

Herwellbeing Society Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (HWSKLS) collaborated and managed Community Grant offered by UNIT TRANSFORMASI MASYARAKAT INDIA MALAYSIA JABATAN PERDANA MENTERI (MITRA) – Govt Office located within the Prime Minister Office Block. This grant aimed at enhancing Malaysian B40Indian Community Wellbeing, amounting to RM84,802.00 was offered to Singhs and Kaurs Society Malaysia
