Malaysia’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 2.3 percent in April 2022. According to the Statistics Department, the rise in CPI compared with the same period in the previous year was due to higher food prices. Such issues are barriers to maintaining a balanced diet when income is limited. Associate Professor Dr. Satvidner Kaur, aligned her talk on how the B40 communities could ensure nutrition consumption in which food prices and cost of living were considered to meet the dietary needs of a low-income population.

CERAMAH PEMAKANAN

Indeks harga pengguna (IHP) Malaysia telah meningkat 2.3 peratus dalam bulan April 2022. Menurut Jabatan Perangkaan, peningkatan IHP berbanding tempoh yang sama pada tahun sebelumnya adalah disebabkan oleh harga makanan yang semakin tinggi . Fakta peningkatan sebegini menjadi halangan ibu-ibu untuk mengekalkan diet seimbang dengan pendapatan yang terhad. Profesor Madya Dr Satvidner Kaur, telah memberi ceramah tentang bagaimana komuniti B40 boleh memastikan nutrisi secukupnya walaupun ada peningkatan harga makanan dan kos sara hidup supaya kesimbangan nutrisi untuk keperluan pemakanan penduduk berpendapatan rendah dapat dijaga.
